Sonnet : The First Rain

Rain drops drizzling
from the wide blue yonder,
with a faint breeze whistling,
Oh what a wonder!

The air is so fresh
with the pleasant, musty petrichor,
soothes the soul and flesh,
causes new hopes to flicker.

Sitting by the window sill
I look beyond the skyline,
I see the clouds with extra frill,
and those with a silver line.

May the clouds continue to shower.
Let the first rain reveal its might and power.
