The Blood Moon

Round as a pearl
and red as fire,
up came the moon
with its spooky attire.

It was the same old one,
nothing had changed,
perhaps soaked in blood,
felt so estranged.

The stillness of the night
seemed faintly evil,
and the howling of the beasts
sounded like the devil.

Was the moon bleeding,
or was it just a trance?
Scarred for its life,
nowhere to advance.

I was drawn in by these lines and I loved your explanation for those too 😃

  2. Hi Jashaswini, you have good mastery over poetry. Can you describe below lines?
    Was the moon bleeding,
or was it just a trance?
    Scarred for its life,
    nowhere to advance.

    1. Hey, thank you so much for reading. The lines you have quoted from the poem mean, I am confused whether the moon is actually hurt and is therefore bleeding, or am I in some sort of dream that the moon is so blood red. Again the last two lines depict the patches on the moon which are always present. And the moon is constantly there, up in the sky. So the permanent home for the moon is the sky. It never changes. I hope you are satisfied with the information above.
Again thanks a lot for your kind appreciation.🙏😊
